2021 U.S. Majors Tour Conference Points Champions Named

As the 2021 racing season comes to a close for most of the country (and begins to heat up for 2022 in the Southeast), this year’s U.S. Majors Tour Conference Champions in all six Conferences have been announced!

Conference points are awarded to the top 20 finishers in each class. Winners earn 25 points, and 21 points go to second. Points are then doled out to others starting with 18 and descending to a single point for the 20th finisher. Only the best eight finishes within a conference count towards a driver’s points total.

One of the questions many organizations have had in 2021 is what behaviors may have changed as we wade through this world-wide pandemic. The drivers of the U.S. Majors Tour answered one question in a big way, with 5,839 total entries in 2021 – up 30.3 percent from 2020! Of course 2020 was a bit of an oddball, with cancelled events and uncertainty, but that count was up 8.61 percent from 2019, the last “normal” season of racing, and a whopping 11.28 percent from 2018 – entries are most certainly on the rise.

Congratulations to all 2021 U.S. Majors Tour point champions and every SCCA member who played a role in putting on these events from across the country, from driver to crew to workers and families in each of our wonderful SCCA Regions!
