Dahnert Hired as SCCA Sr. Director of Finance and Administration

A familiar face is returning to the Sports Car Club of America’s office in Topeka, Kansas.

Jeff Dahnert has resumed the role of Sr. Director of Finance and Administration for the SCCA, a role he previously held from 2004 to 2009 before serving the Club as President and CEO from 2009 to 2013.

During Dahnert’s role as President and CEO, the Club became financially stable and introduced a number of initiatives still in place today, including the Super Tour and Majors programs in road racing.

After leaving the SCCA, Dahnert served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Memorial Corporation at the University of Kansas (KU). The Memorial Corporation oversees the dining, bookstore and student union operations on campus. While there, Dahnert oversaw and coordinated the Memorial Corporation’s share of financing and funding for a significant $350 million expansion in the heart of KU.

During that time, Dahnert also co-founded OptOut Cycles, an on-line mountain bike sales and design company specializing in high-end aluminum mountain bike frames.

“I’m really happy to be back with the SCCA,” Dahnert said. “My favorite part about the Club is the energy and passion that surrounds every activity. There are a lot of welcoming familiar faces and a lot of new faces, but I can already feel that energy again.”

Dahnert and his wife, Laura, will continue to reside in Lawrence, Kansas.

“We’re very pleased that Jeff was interested in the Sr. Director of Finance position,” SCCA President and CEO Michael Cobb said. “To have someone in that position who understands the Club and our business model is extremely helpful, and his experiences are a true asset to all of us.”

Dahnert takes over the position from Mindi Pfannenstiel, who announced her resignation in late January. Her last day in the office is February 12, while Dahnert officially began on Monday, February 8.
