As anyone who has ever been to Packwood Washington knows, it is a very beautiful place nestled in the valley right below Mt Rainier. Just 2.5 hours south of Seattle, it boasts a large asphalt surface in very good condition mostly, and able to host 60+ long and fast solo courses. Coupled with all this it has the several large open buildings which provide a unique covered pit and impound areas. Add it all up and you have an ideal racing venue regardless of weather it's hot and sunny or wet from rain.
As with most good things, they don't last forever. The ownership status of Packwood in limbo. it has gone up for auction and not sold, so we can continue to enjoy this fabulous site for now, but who knows for how much longer. If you have always wanted to come up to Packwood for the Championship Tour and/or ProSolo back to back weekends, make it this year!

If you stay the week in between the two events, you can explore the vast mountain landscapes with magnitudes of hikes and other outdoor adventures around Mt. Rainier, Mt Saint Helen's, and the other mountains in the area. With Seattle and Portland Oregon only a couple of hours away, there is plenty to keep you entertained for a few days to make this trip a full family getaway.
Speaking of family, this year a local Girls Scout troop will be providing a babysitting service as a fund raiser at this event for a nominal fee. So if you are coming with your entire family, you can have them watch your children for a hour or so. More details to follow.

While the town of Packwood is small, it has some good places to eat, like Cruisers Pizza, Cliff Droppers, and the Blue Spruce tavern. Lodging is adequate for there are several hotels in the area and vacation homes for rent, and those with RV's can stay on site but there are no hookups available. Rigs can be left on site during the week between races and a small fee is asked to pay for someone to keep an eye on things.
So sign up for your Packwood adventure while you still can!
EDIT - I forgot to mention that the hiking picture (top) is for High Rock Lookout just 20 miles from Packwood - http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/high-rock
