Online Solo Safety Steward Seminar

Join us for the first ever online Solo Safety Steward Seminar on Monday Feb. 8th at 9pm eastern!

Following the success of the SEB's 1st online town hall meeting in 2015, Mark Andy and Kathy Barnes are going to present an online Solo Safety Steward training class. This class is the first step in getting your SSS license and also can be used to satisfy the continuing education requirement for existing SSS license holders. Registration priority will be given to these people. You'll also need to be at least 18 years old and an SCCA member. For this first class, we're capping the # of registrants to 30.

In the class you'll learn about exciting things like "what are the minimum requirements for distances to objects", "how old do you have to be to be in grid", and "give me some techniques for working with that !#$#%%%!! course designer". For even more fun, we're planning on filling out an incident report form for a fictional incident. Good times.

At the risk of being a little more serious... We cannot run SCCA events without at least one SSS on site. And if there's only one, that person can't actually drive, which is really not much fun, so the practical requirement is to have at least two fully licensed SSS's at any SCCA Solo event. We're hoping that this online class will increase accessibility to the required SSS seminar and are very excited to be offering it!

If you'd like to attend, please contact Doug Gill at the national office. DGill@scca.com or 1-800-770-2055. Doug will confirm your information and get you login credentials for the seminar. We expect the length of the class to be about 2 hours and you'll need a computer with a high speed internet connection (no exceptions). We'll be using GoToMeeting's online meeting technology. You'll also need to have a microphone and speakers to participate, or you can simultaneously call in using a phone (not a toll free number).

Please join us! We're excited to be able to finally offer online SSS training classes!
