2015 Solo Rookie of the Year

Ahead of the official presentation at the upcoming SCCA National Convention, the Sports Car Club of America has revealed the winner of the Rookie of the Year award. The award recognizes a driver who shows outstanding performance at their first Solo National Championships with limited competition experience. Tamra Hunt, of Shelton, Connecticut, completed her first full year of national-level autocross with a National Championship in C Street Prepared Ladies, leading the way by over three seconds ahead of three previous National Champions, earning herself the Rookie of the Year award.

Tamra is not only new to the Solo National Championships, but also to autocross in general. After only one year of local events Tamra jumped into the national scene fully committed. In 2015, she trophied in each of the six national events that she entered including wins in a ProSolo, a Championship Tour, and Solo Nationals, never finishing off the podium. Making this accomplishment even more impressive is the fact that her national podium finishes were in three different classes in a variety of cars. Tamra also finished second in the L3 ProSolo Season Championship.

Congratulations to Tamra Hunt on her Championship and being named the SCCA's Rookie of the Year.
