Saturday morning kicks off the Toledo Pro Solo action. Be sure not to miss out, this is a very popular event; selling out in under 20 minutes! It will be action packed and loaded with competition.
C street will bring a notable battle with Chris Center and Chris Harvey continuing on their battle from Lincoln in Chris Harvey’s MX5, but don't count out Mike Cavenaugh in his 350Z. Continuing on battles in street brings us to Street RWD where Charles Kim will be piloting his Porsche GT3 taking on Mike Jr Johnson in a Corvette. Challenging these SS spawn cars is Tim Kong in his Honda S2000 CR. We have a few really strong drivers in Street FWD (SF), Trevor Jones who has been very fast this year in his Ford Focus ST and Andy Thomas last year’s National winner in RTF piloting his Toyota Celica. Courtney Cormier hopping out of the SSP Corvette and into a Mini Cooper and will be gunning for these strong competitors in Street FWD.
Super Street R never provides a dull moment bringing not only car diversity, but very tough competition. Pat Salerno who is always fast will be driving a Porsche GT3. Grant Reeve is proving to be a very strong driver in a C5 Z06, Jason Burnins a C6 Grand Sport, Andrew Pallotta in a C5 Z06, and multi-time National Champion is piloting a C6 Z06. All of that talent should bring an entertaining battle with plenty of position changes along the way.
That leads us to the Street Touring battles; STS will provide some tight battles with CRX on Miata action. Jason Frank and Ian Baker are always fast in those EF Hondas, and will be taking on co-drivers John Brown and Darrin DiSimo in the Mazda Miata. STX never disappoints with car diversity and competition. Todd Kunze representing the Hondas with an Integra Type R, Eric Simmons in a Subaru BRZ, Danny Kao in the BRZ's counterpart a Scion FRS, Steve Weatherwax in a Subaru WRX and Kennith Tsang in a Mazda RX8. Should be really interesting to see how things shake up in STX. Matthew Braun is trying to continue his success in STR, he will be teaming up and co-driving with David Marcus in the Honda S2000. With last year’s ProSolo JCJ Cup Winner, Nick Barbato, in a S2000 CR it should be a fun battle.
E Street Prepared provides a strong showing with 16 drivers registered in the class, Greg McCance in the Subaru WRX makes the trip from California to take on Dave Ogburn III in the 2010 Ford Mustang, and Marcus Merideth in the 2007 Shelby GT. Street Prepared Index A (SPA) is full of heavy hitters, as Daniel McCelvey in a Corvette, Mike Lane in the sexy Nissan 350Z, Andy Hohl and Joe Tharpe co-driving the C5 Z06, Lee Piccione in the E36 M3, and Eric Stemler in the C5 Corvette Z06 are all set to do battle! Not to be outdone, Street Prepared Index B (SPB) will feature John Vitamvas and Eric Campbell in DSP BMW E46’s, Chris Dressler in DSP E36, and Bob and Billy Davis in their CSP Miata. You’re going to want to tune in for these great battles.
The ladies of the SCCA are set to put on their own show this weekend. Ladies 1 (L1) will include Learic Cramer with her switch to a Porsche GT3 against Shelly Monfort in a BMW 330ci. Ladies 2 will feature back-to-back Ladies Challenge winner, Jocelin Huang in the Porsche GT3 from Super Street. Ladies 3 (Street Touring) will pit Hilary Anderson in her STS Honda CRX Si against Laura Campbell in a STX Mini Cooper, Kathy Grunenwald in the family STC Honda Civic Si, and Holly Schwedler in the STX Toyota Scion FR-S.
