TBT: Autocrossing in the 80s was Amazing

Jalopnik nailed it: This 1980s Autocross TV Special Is The Greatest Thing On YouTube...

It's not often that we, as autocrossers, get to hear or see much about the history of our sport. In a time before digital cameras, Facebook and email, archiving autocross events upto and through the 80s was all done via analog means: VHS and paper records. In the year 2014, most of us have no time for things like this... but the few people who do have taken the time to convert these records into something digitial that will keep the history of the sport alive and keep us amazed that not only did people autocross (as new) those beater cars we first had starting at 200,000+ miles, but they did so (legally) on the street from time to time and with incredible local coverage on TV... with (epic 80s) commercials and all! For anyone who is a child of the 80s, or maybe just loves the TV show The Goldbergs, this is a perfect way to spend an hour of Throwback Thursday.
