TOPEKA, Kan. (June 2, 2014) – SCCA has announced that registration for the 42nd Tire Rack SCCA Solo® National Championship, scheduled for Sept. 1-5 at the Lincoln (Neb.) Airpark, opened this past Sunday.
Entry for the event, which includes two days of competition for each driver, is $170 for all classes except the junior classes. Registration for junior drivers is $85. All entry feels are due immediately upon registration. The late registration fee will be $308, starting Aug. 1.
In addition to registering for the event, drivers will also be given the opportunity to order a one-of-a-kind jacket commemorating the event. The cost for the jacket will be an additional $115, for sizes small through extra-large, and $117 for a two or three extra-large. The logo for the event will be embroidered on the jacket, which can be seen online when ordering.
In the past few years, entries have been near the 1,200 mark. That number is expected to remain consistent, making the Solo Nationals the largest motorsports competition in the world. The enthusiasm for the event is clear with 108 drivers already having signed up, as registration has been open for just over 24 hours.
National Championship honors will be up for grabs in 94 classes, with the addition of four supplemental classes. Formula Junior A, Formula Junior B, Formula SAE and Formula SAE Ladies, are the four classes that compete at the meet but will not be eligible for National Championships.
In the 94 National Championship-eligible classes, at least three drivers must have started a run for the winner to be considered a National Champion.
Online registration will close Aug. 25. Entries submitted after that date will need to go to drowland@scca.com.
