The Pro Solo series moves to El Toro field in Orange County this weekend. Though the site's future is currently in question - with this potentially being the last Pro Solo to happen at the El Toro airfield - this event will be one you don't want to miss. Hot on the heels of the San Diego Championship Tour, where the competition was fierce, the battle resumes among the same players in numerous classes, and some competitors emerge who were conspicuously absent in San Diego.

San Diego definitely required its own special setup, driving technique and is known to like certain tires more than others.  El Toro, on the other hand, is more straightforward and results could see some shuffling. Max Hayter will defend his San Diego win in STX, though the Tsangs and Hayter's co-driver Annie Gill will definitely put the heat on him. Alex and Tiberiu (you can call him T.B.) Muresan will be there in an Integra tyoe R along with Clint Child, hoping to show why he's been a regular at the top of STX at Nationals. Additionally, Bryan Heitkotter will continue to tweak his Nissan 300ZX (this makes event #3 for the car) to make a run for the overall win. Seemingly absent from the El Toro Pro Solo scene is any 4WD STX car like the WRX that almost took the Blytheville Pro or any VW R32. Twenty entries will contest the class.

STU will see the inclusion of current STR National Champion, Brian Peters (and his 350Z that took him there). Will his stomping of the class continue or will the 4WD boost buggies even things out with their advantage on the Pro drag launches? Jeff Cawthorne will be going for the win in STR again in this class of 18 this week. Big names like Ken Motonishi, James Yom, Jon Lugod, Bob Endicott, Kevin Dietz, Nick Bjoin and others chasing him down. Of note, we also have Michael Carpenter in a 370Z and David Rock in an Toyota MR-Spyder looking to bring some diversity to the class and hopefully, spoil the S2000/MX-5 party.

The indexed Street classes will be interesting with Porsches, Corvettes, an M3, a 335is, an S2000 and even the Genesis of Ed Runion will be battling in one another. There will be a similar battle in the Street Prepared Index class with Evos, 350zs, Corvettes, GT3s and even an Audi R8 in the mix. The battle in R2 (Indexed Prepared) should be epic, with the Ellam RX3, the Zust Elise, the Baker Miata fighting it out.  Sunday afternoon's Challenge events pit the fastest cars from the classes against each other, and tuning in to see who advances and who goes home in each round will definitely entertain you!

ESP will be the king of drag Solo racers this week with the McCance / Brooks combo in their WRX against 4 Ford Mustang drivers. Will they be able to hold their own against the stick axle cars? Will the GT-R of Eric Hyman continue to dominate the christmas tree this week? Will KJ Christoper be able to keep his top PAX streak running in R1 against the likes of Jeff Kiesel's EM Sprite? …and who will crowned the Super Challenge champion this weekend in El Toro?
