Finally. The 2014 Tire Rack Solo Season is here and if you can't be there the next best thing is to tune in to all that's happening deep in the heart of Dixie. Here is a rundown of what to watch for:

The Debut of Street: Dixie will be the first chance to see all of the new Street classes in action and with 60 drivers in the category we will get our first glance to see how the running order gets shaken up. G-Street leads the way in car count and intrigue with the return of past Super Stock National Champion and Driver of the Year Ian Stewart, driving a Volvo S60R. Catagory wide, there are questions to answer. Will there be new cars to have? Will this bump new drivers to the top of the pecking order? How will the new tires work with the asphalt surfaces at South Georgia Motorsports park? By Sunday evening, we should have our first answers.

Dixieland Battlegrounds: Last year's Super Stock podium is back this year in SSR, with Sam Strano, Scott Hurley, and Adam Schoonmaker. This may sound like business as usual for the old Super Stock, but take a closer look and you will see Nick Myers and Brandon Lavender, the last two C-Mod National champions entered in the closest thing you can get to a Formula car in Street Class, a Lotus Elise. STR has last year's second through fifth place drivers all after Jason Collett's win from last year. In STS, Darrin DiSimo and John Brown, co-driving a Mazda Miata will be fighting Darren Madaffari and Kerry Coughlin, both in Kerry's Honda CRX. Need a horsepower fix? How about 9 drivers in CP, 4 from Texas, the rest from Florida and Georgia. Knowing CP, there may be more than just bragging rights are on the line.

Street Touring eXtreme: The largest class at Dixie, if you can only tune in for one, this is it. After shocking DSP last year, Bryan Heitkotter will be seeking yet another Tour win, co-driving with Teddie Alexandrova in her Mazda RX-8. Challenging them, last year's second and fourth places at Dixie, Jason Ruggles and Mike King, will both also be in RX-8's, hoping to see if they can rein in another victory. Never discount local favorites Dennis Sparks and Randall Prince; both have been fighting for trophies in past years and constantly developing their cars. Bill Cook and Andy Hohl in Subaru BRZs, with yet another year of development behind them and quickly proving to be fast, capable cars, will also be throwing their hat in the ring for the win.
