Second: all winners proceed to the “semi-finals” on June 9th to run off against each other, getting it down to two final competitors.

Third: the two winning drivers from the semi-finals were placed in the Finals late that afternoon, each driving Eliseo’s highly modified Lotus Elise (shown above).

The Finals came down to Cristian Alvarez running against Juan Lacassie “el Chirpa”. Cristian advanced on Saturday to the semi finals on Sunday in his Mini Cooper, and then to the finals by beating Manuel Betanzo. On the other hand, Juan had gotten to the semi finals in a Mercedes, and then beating a Volvo in the semi- finals using that Mercedes to advance to the Finals run off.

After using Eliseo’s Lotus a very close competition, the overall winner was Juan Lacassie “el Chirpa”. Juan only beat Cristian by a few hundredths of a second. Incidentally, Juan is a locally known “Chilean Skateboarder/Snowboarder”, and has appeared in a Chilean TV reality series called Mundos Opuestos as well!

He is pictured above with the victory champagne, while Eliseo Salazar is holding the check that gets Juan to the Solo Nationals in Lincoln this year. Pictured below is second place winner, Cristian Alvarez along with Eliseo Slazar, The celebratory Champagne (notice the labels) and a Cool Coat the Eliseo is wearing.
