Here’s a little story about a Southern boy from Texas and a Yankee girl from Connecticut.  After each of our families moved to Phoenix, Arizona, we met in high school marching band (yes, we’re high school sweethearts!) later attending University of Arizona in Tucson together.  After college, we moved to Texas and married shortly thereafter.  Fast forward to the interesting part, the autocross bug bit us both as soon as we moved to Texas.  Brad’s brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Vicki Maxcy (both past SCCA National Champions), fueled the competitive fire with their involvement in local autocross clubs.

Everyone said, “run what ya brung”, so off we went in a ’72 VW SuperBeetle.  Since then, we’ve autocrossed several other fun cars:  a ’74 TVR 2500M, a ’91 Miata, a ’94 Miata, a ’87 Porsche 924S, a ’94 C4 Corvette and currently a ’98 BMW 328is in STX trim.  Between the Porsche and the Corvette, we took a few years off to pursue sailboat racing with family members.

Brad has been the SCCA Texas Region Solo ARE for three years.  Jen is on the SCCA Texas Region Board of Directors.  Prior to SCCA, we were both heavily involved with Equipe Rapide SSC, a local autocross club in Texas.  Since 2007, we have chaired all of the Texas Region Divisional events, as well as National Tour and ProSolo events hosted by Texas Region.

We were extremely flattered and honored when the National office asked us to be Event Chairs for Nationals.  Hosting a little get-together for 1,200 of our closest friends in Lincoln, Nebraska, will by far be our biggest challenge yet.  Hope to see you there!
