This year's SCCA National Convention features 8 Solo minded sessions plus two sessions on the Tire Rack Street Survival Program. Here is a brief overview of what you can expect from each:

Regional Solo Workshop Parts 1 and 2:

Think of this as a best practices session with a stopwatch. Part 1 will kick of by creating a list of event operation areas where regions either excel or struggle. Once we have 5-10 topics isolated as primary areas of interest, representatives of regions that struggle in an area will have an opportunity to quiz those who have found success. Don't get too fixated though, every 15-20 minutes we will reset the deck so everyone has an opportunity to ask questions, listen in and share their perspectives. This session kicks things off so that convention goers can get to know one another and begin conversations that may spill over in to meals, evening activities or impromptu hallway meetings keeping these conversations going throughout the weekend.

The Key to Drive Membership:

This session is for everyone at the convention. It is the launching point for a new SCCA program designed to improve our products, strengthen our image and community and present the club as the premier amateur motorsports organization in the United States. This program is being presented by an independent firm that has studied the club extensively and has created a step by step path to help us retain the members we have, become more attractive to those we do not have and create a culture of motorsports enthusiasm.

The Future is NOW - Course Design 3.0:

Join Roger "the Real" Johnson and Karen Babb for an hour long dive into the world of course design. Always one of the most popular sessions, Roger and Karen are happy to share their tried and true as well as the more outside of the box ideas. If your region is stuck in a course design rut, even if you feel there are no other options for your site, this session has the tools you need.

Featured Program - The Hawaii Region Experience:

This year's convention will feature the Hawaii Region as the first installment in a series. Hawaii Region is unique in climate, geography and culture but faces many of the same challenges any other region does. What makes them unique is that they don't have other programs in their area to take ideas or differentiate themselves from. The result is autocrossing in a vacuum. Come spend a short session hearing from their leaders about the solutions they have found and the unique culture that surrounds their program.

Balancing the Safety Game:

Safety is a hallmark of SCCA Solo and an essential part of any Regional Solo program. However, there is a need for balance in safety and in the delivery of the safety message. This session will focus on finding that balance, making good decisions, and conveying complete messages about safety.

There is a ME in Team:

It has been proven time and time again that the team approach to Solo Event management and execution produces better events, happier members and longer lasting Solo Chairs. This session starts with that premise and discusses how to build and manage your program by being the ME in your team.

Make it Easy, Make it Fun, Make it Relevant:

Is your program easy and fun? How about relevant? Does it communicate with your members the way they want you to? Does it offer events that work with their lives, priorities and goals? This session explores those questions and introduces ways to connect with and capture the attention of your less hardcore members who may be looking for something different that the long time member.

Who are you?

Everyone has a brand, whether you realize it our not. SCCA Solo Programs are no different. Whether you are the little region that does a lot, or the big region who produces champions or the region of 'hold the start,' your region has a brand. This session is all about building your brand to be something that you and your members are proud to be a part of. It starts with quality events, but the story you tell and how you tell it is just as important.
