The 2012 Tire Rack SCCA National Solo Schedule has been released with 9 National Tours, 7 ProSolos, the ProSolo Finale and Solo Nationals on this year's calendar. The biggest news of the announcement is two combo weekends, putting a ProSolo on Friday and Saturday and a National Tour on Sunday and Monday of the same weekend.  This comes on the heels of last's years success in Lincoln with the debut of the format, dubbed "Spring Nationals."  Joining the Lincoln Event this year will be a "Summer Nationals" in Blytheville, Arkansas, the second weekend in June. In addition to the combo weekends, there are 4 back-to-back weekends that give Soloist the ability to fly home for the week between two National Series events or the option to stay and enjoy the area.  The Traditional back-to-back weekends in Southern California kick things off with the San Diego Tour and El Toro ProSolo covering the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May.  The Toledo Pro is paired with Peru Tour this year, the two sites are 150 miles apart with flight options in Toledo or Ft Wayne. For Summer vacation seekers, the Colorado Tour and New Mexico ProSolo events offer a 350 mile distance through the Rio Grande National Forrest.  This joins Packwood as a family vacation destination on the Solo Calender.  Packwood Washington is the home of the only back-to-back on the same site, hosting a Tour and ProSolo each of the first two weekends of July. The only date not yet finalized is the Maryland ProSolo, scheduled for April 14th.  Currently there are two site options for the event that are being evaluated.  The date is locked into the schedule, only the location is yet to be announced.  Overall the schedule represents a shift back to proven sites, as evident by the return to Peru Indiana.  The Peru date is of significant interest as it comes just one month before the championship event and is held on a similar concrete surface. The season will again kick off in Georgia with the hospitality of the Dixie Region at the familiar South Georgia Motorsports Park.  All Totaled the series will visit 11 states, comprise of 19 Events covering 16 weekends, 40 total days of National level competition... with a Monday to rest tossed in for good messure.
