Danny Bender won an SCCA National Championship in Touring 4 in 2014 and also claimed the Kimberly Cup for that performance. Every now and then he takes his Club Racing experience and applies it to Pro racing with some stints in the Battery Tender Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich Tires.
Bender recently took to his home track of Road America to run a couple races with MX-5 Cup but also made the step to the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Street Tuner Class. Bender’s success proves that there is a lot to be learned by running Club Races but that MX-5 Cup is a logical step into professional racing aspirations.
