Heat 5/East Course

In Street Touring Sport Ladies, this day was a long time in the making for Nicole Wong as she took a 0.817-second lead into the overnight break. Throughout the development of the Honda Del Sol both team and driver struggled with confidence in the machinery and themselves. However, it all came together on Tuesday where Wong was consistently quicker than her competition. Hilary Anderson is second and is the only driver opting to run on Kumho tires.

E Street Ladies witnessed some surprising struggles from former National Champion Meredith Brown. Brown worked through spins on her first and second runs, then connected with a cone on her third, and final, run of the day. The raw time her final run would have been enough to take the lead in the class, had it not been for the penalty.

Steve O’Blenes is the leader in B Street Prepared after three runs, which is of little surprise to most. The fight for second proved to be more dramatic where there was some discussion as to whether Anthony Porta hit a cone, or not. Once a decision was made, penalizing Porta for a downed cone, he dropped to sixth, just outside of the trophy positions.
