TOPEKA, Kan. (August 18, 2010) – At this weekend’s SCCA RallyCross National Championship presented by Subaru and Heuberger Motors in Fountain, Colo., Aug. 20 – 22, a variety of companies are offering top finishers and National Champions more than $22,000 in combined cash and prizes. Automobile manufacturers are among those who have stepped to the plate with a program for competitors in 2010. Volkswagen, Subaru and Mazda are all offering cash awards to top finishers. Fast drivers this weekend behind the wheel of a Volkswagen will earn $200 for a win and $100 for a runner-up finish. Subaru rewards the top three finishers in the Stock All Wheel Drive, Prepared All Wheel Drive and Modified 4 classes with $1250 for a win, and $750 or $500 for a podium finish. Mazda offers a prize ($500, $250 and $125) to the top three finishers in each class as well. Yokohama Tire offers the top three finishers of the Prepared and Modified categories a contingency prize. Each winner running four Yokohama tires will earn $500, with second and third-place finishers earning $250 and $100, respectively. Regardless of the make of tires, those mounted on Team Dynamics wheels are also eligible for contingency funds. Winners in the Prepared and Modified categories will earn a $200 product certificate for a win, and a $100 certificate for runner-ups. Continuing a program that stretches across all of the SCCA disciplines, National Champions who are also subscribers to Grassroots Motorsports Magazine and carry the magazine’s decal on the car will earn a $100 bonus from the publication.
