Versus Returns to DIRECTV Channel Lineup

TOPEKA, Kan. (March 17, 2010) -- DIRECTV and Comcast announced Monday that they have reached an agreement to return Versus to the DIRECTV programming lineup today. The agreement means that the SCCA Pro Racing-sanctioned World Challenge series will be available on DIRECTV as well as major cable providers and Dish Network.Versus will return to the same DIRECTV programming packages it was in at the end of August 2009."We are pleased that both sides were able to work out a satisfactory deal to bring this programming back to our customers," Derek Chang, executive vice president, Content Strategy and Development, DIRECTV, said.€œWe're excited that we were able to come to a fair agreement that puts VERSUS back in millions of homes with DIRECTV in time for our busy spring programming schedule," Versus President Jamie Davis said.In addition to World Challenge programming, which begins with the Acura Sports Car Challenge at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, scheduled to air April 18 at 2 p.m. (EST), Versus carries IZOD IndyCar coverage, NHL games and UFC events.
