World Challenge Streams Live from Mid-Ohio This Weekend

TOPEKA, Kan. (July 31, 2013) – The Pirelli World Challenge travels to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, where all four classes will be in action. Each racing lap can be found live online through www.world-challengetv.com.

The GT and GTS classes will settle Rounds 11 and 12 of the 2013 championship. Johnny O’Connell, of Flowery Branch, Ga., leads the GT drivers’ championship, following first-place finishes at Lime Rock Park and Toronto. James Sofronas, of Villa Park, Calif., sits only 36 markers behind O’Connell, after back-to-back fourth-place finishes in the most recent races. O’Connell’s Cadillac teammate, Andy Pilgrim, of Boca Raton, Fla., sits in third with 974 points.

In GTS, Jack Baldwin, of Marietta, Ga., still keeps a firm grasp on the drivers’ championship lead, a position he has held since the season-opener in St. Petersburg. Mark Wilkins, of Toronto, sits second in the championship, 133 markers behind Baldwin, after a streak of eight top-five finishes. Lawson Aschenbach, of Jupiter, Fla., sits in third after collecting 917 points.

Touring Car and Touring Car B-Spec are back in action for a doubleheader, running Rounds Nine and 10. The Compass 360 teammates of Ryan Winchester, of Mason City, Iowa, Brett Sandberg, of Allendale, N.J., and Remo Ruscitti, of Vancouver, sit atop the TC drivers’ standings, in that order. Winchester leads Sandberg by 221 markers, while Ruscitti has collected 709 points.

In TCB, Ernie Francis, Jr., of Davie, Fla., sits atop the drivers’ championship with 849 points, after finishing first and second in Toronto. Robbie Davis, of Dallas, sits second in the drivers’ standings, only 32 markers behind. Joel Lipperini, of Pittston, Penn., currently sits third with 764 points.
