How Tos & Reminders: Getting In & After Your Set
Hello all!
We are so so so close to getting to go to Lincoln and I can’t wait!
To help make our more “technical” processes as simple as possible, we’ve got a couple of reminders and best practices that we’ve put together for you below. Take a quick read, see what you can go ahead and take care of, and let’s all get to the #funwithcars as quickly as possible!
Pack the Tow Hook
Friendly reminder to bring your tow hook with you to Lincoln. Not that anything is going to happen, but should the need arise, it’ll help us get you off course quicker. The quicker you’re off course, the quicker you can start sorting the issue. It also means that we can get cars back on course, too.
Early Arrival
The Airpark has helped us secure an Early Arrival area for 2025, off of NW 38th & Air Park Rd. To access, please turn onto Air Park Rd and then left onto NW 36th St to then circle into the parking lot. Please DO NOT BLOCK the roll up door on the building.
As always, the area is first-come, first-served, but please be considerate of your fellow competitors and park in a way to maximize opportunity. If it is full, you will have to find another area, outside of the Airpark, in which to stage.
We have been given access to the boxed area and no more. Do not park outside of the area – violators will be towed. Do not block any streets or intersections.
And most importantly, be respectful of the businesses around you (and in the Airpark). They are still working while we are hanging out in our concrete beach.
Waivers
Do them ahead of time if you can. Complete the electronic annual waiver on your SCCA member account portal at my.scca.com (Instructions) or the SpeedWaiver.
Under 19? You must have a valid Minor Waiver on file to compete in the state of Nebraska. Filling it out ahead of time is absolutely the easy button here. Take care of it electronically and avoid a notary fee (see instructions link above)! Email Tracy Lewis at tlewis@scca.com so that she can make sure the Minor Waiver was completed properly & that you’re good to go.
At the gate: Have your SCCA card (annual waiver), SpeedWaiver documentation, or Driver’s License handy. Your SCCA card with the annual waiver designation & your picture on it or SpeedWaiver info will show you’re good to go to get your event armband. If you’re signing the paper waiver or don’t have your photo on your SCCA card, the Driver’s License will serve as your positive identification. Pro Tip: You can access an electronic copy of your SCCA membership card in your member account portal.
Showing you’ve signed the waiver: You have two options on site to show that you’ve signed the waiver. Annual SCCA waiver with updated hard card? You may opt to display your hard card in a visible location on the front of your body. To do so, you must wear it at all times. Or you may get the standard Solo Nationals silicone armband at the gate (participating minors will get their silicone wristband at check-in after confirmation of their minor waiver). The Tyvek SCCA wristbands are also available at the gate for spectators or those who don’t like the silicone bands.
Waivers are legal documents. It has come to our attention that there are people signing waivers under false names. Anyone not signing their name is falsifying a legal document. Please make sure your printed name and member number are legible. If it is illegible, you will be asked to re-sign and legibly print your information.
Check-In
Check your membership expiration date! If your membership expires on August 31 and is not set up on automatic renewal, please renew before coming to check-in. Full, annual membership is required to attend Solo Nationals.
This year, the Check-In Tent will be back down by the East Course (Plane Side) with the Tech Tent. Having them together has helped with the flow the past few years, so we’re doing it again!
Go to Check-In before you go to Tech. There will already be a tech sheet for you at Check-In with your information pre-filled based on your MotorsportReg entry. We will not be using the standard Tech Sheet for Solo Nationals.
Bring Your Helmet with you to Check-In. The Check-In team will scan your helmet barcode to make sure they can get a good scan. You will still need to take your helmet to tech to ensure it passes tech inspection.
Make sure you get in the right line! Check-in will be split by last name, so make sure you get in the correct line! There will be signs above the stations to show the split. If you need to make changes, that line will be on the far left when you enter the tent.
The alpha splits (by last name!) are as follows:
- Tues/Weds: A-G, H-N, O-Z
- Thurs/Fri: A-K, L-Z
Attended the ProSolo Finale? You will still need to go through check-in for Solo Nationals.
Tech
Please be sure to read this section. It is updated compared to previous years!
Use the tech form that you get at Check-In (not the regular season tech form) to tech your car. Then take the completed form and your helmet to the Tech Tent. Pro Tip: You are under no obligation to do Check-In and Tech at the same time. If the line is longer than you’d like to deal with at that time, come back later (but check the schedule first!).
Need any of the required decals or provided sponsor decals? Look for a Tech teammate! They’ll have them in the Tech tent!
Not all sponsor decals are available on-site. Need to check if yours are? Review contingency program details here. Pro Tip: Make sure you have signed up for Solo Nationals contingency before competition begins. It is separate from your National Tour sign-up!
All numbers and required decals will need to be correctly applied before you can take to the courses for competition. You do not need to present your car at tech. If you have concerns regarding decal placement or number/class letter contrast with your vehicle, you may bring the vehicle to the tech area for consultation. Pro Tip: Refer to the event supps for required decals. Required decal locations and class/number sizing can be found here.
Co-drivers? Every driver will need to turn in a tech form and have their helmet inspected before competing.
Event Decals: The Tech Stickers and Event Decals will only be issued once you’ve turned in your tech form. Don’t forget to apply the Event Decals to the car – they are required to run! The 2025 Event Decal measures 4in x 5in (WxH) and is a rectangle with rounded courners.
Attended the ProSolo Finale? You’re teched for the week. Make sure your tech stickers reflect your appropriate classes and you’re good. You’ll get your Event Decals when you check in for Solo Nationals.
Impound
Impound for each class will be in their respective Grids. All competition vehicles will be impounded per Solo rules 6.10 to assure that competitors have complied with the SCCA National Solo Rules and Supplementary Regulations for the event. Car information and appropriate decal placement will be verified by Impound workers.
Compliance Inspections
Targeted compliance inspections at the Solo Nationals may take place during the Impound period in Grid after each heat concludes. Competitors must be prepared to make their car ready for such inspections by being able to safely jack one side of the car up and remove a front and rear wheel. Competitors need to come to Grid prepared for such inspections and are responsible for removal and reinstallation of components as required and must use proper tools/equipment (e.g. jack, jack stands to support raised vehicle, and necessary tools for wheel removal).
The following categories will be required to remove a front and rear wheel from one side of the vehicle after completion of competition runs on the first day (Tuesday/Thursday) for the class:
- Street
- Street Touring
- CSX & CSM
In addition, B Mod will inspect rear wing max height and F Mod will inspect max track width.
Release from Impound
Drivers are to remain in the Grid/Impound until specifically RELEASED. NOTE: Distribution of results is not the official release. After Timing and Impound have agreed to the official time of release, Impound will signal "Impound is released."
Scales
All Street Modified, Prepared, Modified, CAM, Xtreme Street category and CSX vehicles will be weighed after running. Drivers should look for Impound workers to direct them to the scales. Please be aware of other vehicles to be weighed and enter/exit the scales safely and without unnecessary delay.
Drivers of Street Modified and Prepared cars will need to exit the vehicle when weighing. CAM/Xtreme Street, CSX, Modified, and Kart vehicles should remain seated in the vehicle. For classes that weigh with driver, each driver must report to scales after 3rd runs.
If a vehicle has two drivers, it will weigh after competition has been completed for both drivers.
Disabled vehicles (DNS, DNF, etc.) are still required to proceed to the scales promptly, drivers should notify Impound right away of their disabled status. Failure to report to the scales when directed may result in penalties.
Protests
For complete Protest & Appeals regulations, please see Sections 8 & 10 of the SCCA Solo Rulebook and the 2025 Tire Rack SCCA Solo Nationals Supplemental Rules.
Protests at Solo Nationals will be filed electronically using the Sportity password SCCAPROTEST. This information will be available at the Protest Tent or by contacting a Chief Steward. The online form submission will go directly to the Chief of Protest and will be distributed as required. Protesters must ensure that their on-site contact information is listed on the Protest Form so the Protest Committee is able to reach them with a decision.
