You’re heading to this year’s 1980s-themed Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Championships in Lincoln, NE, so why not kick off the Sept. 6-9 madness in style? The Solo Nats Welcome Party will jump into action on site at Lincoln Airpark on Sept. 5 at 5:30 p.m. in the massive Tire Rack Event Center tent (located just north of the East Course) and will burn the midnight oil – or it’ll end at 9 p.m., whichever comes first. Regardless, you’re invited, and we can’t wait!

Who’s going to be there? Will there be music? Relax! We’ve got it covered!

First, food is a given because it’s our obsession. But that’s only the beginning!

A DJ will spin your favorite ’80s records and there will be party favors galore, including Koosh Balls, shutter glasses, Troll Dolls, and more, with at least 99 luftballons as decoration. There will also be ’80s trivia where you can take on me, your friends, and your closest autocross competition. Oh yeah!

There are big prizes to be won this evening! We’ve got more than a few impressive forget me nots, like a Casio calculator watch, Stretch Armstrong, a flux capacitor (light, anyway), a Hoverboard, and more, including a video game contest where the winners receive Nintendo Plug & Plays! Any one of these prizes would have made you the envy or your middle school!

Still on the fence? Come on Eileen – this party is gonna rock because not only will there be a photo booth, but the best ’80s outfits will determine who gets crowned the evening’s queen and king. So don’t be too shy – dress the part!

Those puttin’ on the ritz with ’80s themed golf carts are encouraged to cruise to the Welcome Party in style, although that competition is planned for Wednesday – details to come on that one.
