All class changes must be approved by the Event Lead or their designee once check-in closes.
B. COURSE WALKS: Courses will be open for walking at the following times. See Event Specific communications for more detail or specific days if the event is a multi-event weekend.
Day before Competition: 4:00 pm – 7:30 pm Day of Competition: 7:00 am – 8:00 am
C. SCALES: Scales should be available from 4:30pm to 6:00pm and are available to the competitors free of charge. If they are not available during this specific time, they may be available during the event under the supervision of Impound.
D. SAFETY:
- A speed limit of 12 MPH will be enforced at the event site including pre-grid and grid. Tire spins, rapid speed or direction changes, or other "abnormal/unusual" driving techniques are strictly prohibited throughout the event site, other than during competition. See Event Lead for questions or problems.
- Drivers are responsible for the actions of their crew and guests.
- Photographers desiring to enter a course area must be approved by the course Safety Steward and be accompanied by a spotter. A minor may not serve as a spotter. Photographers must seek permission, and be granted approval by the Event Lead and, if necessary, have all the proper credentials and safety from the hosting track for the Time Attack portion of the event.
- Please check the Supplemental rules as some hosting tracks have additional requirements or may not allow use of some motorized personal transport. The operation of motorized vehicles, whether gas or electric powered, such as but not limited to, golf carts and other personal transportation vehicles, is limited to persons who can present a valid driver’s license.
- Pylons, tape, and/or other barriers will define "No Parking" areas near the course, pit entry or pit exit. Cars parked in such a manner that block or restrict defined driveways or entrances to course areas will be towed away without notice, at the expense of the vehicle operator/owner.
- Skateboards, hoverboards, Segways, bicycles, scooters and similar conveyances may not be ridden in the Grid area or hot pits.
- All incidents involving injury and/or property damage occurring on the event site or felt associated with the event will be reported as soon as possible to the Event Lead or Safety Steward.
E. AUTOCROSS ELEMENTS (Held under the 2025 Solo Rules):
- Autocross competition will consist of four runs in Element 1 (morning) and four runs in Element 2 (afternoon), conditions permitting. Runs will be scheduled in 2-4 heats depending on number of entries (heats will be assigned by car class).
- There will be a grid 100 and grid 200. Therefore, drivers are to position their cars in grid 100 or grid 200 as assigned. If the car is not in their specified grid position when the first car of the heat is instructed to the start line, they may lose a run/or runs depending on arrival time to grid.
- All drivers will be assigned a "home" space number for grid purposes where they may leave any necessary equipment. After each run, all drivers will return to their "home." Do not block the access lanes between spaces. Dual Drivers will have the same grid position.
- During competition, the course will be open for walk-through between Element 1 & Element 2, if time permits.
- All drivers will be offered eight total runs during the autocross sessions, conditions permitting.
- No competitor shall take a second run until after all drivers in their class have completed their first run. After the completion of each autocross run, vehicles must return directly to the grid. Vehicles are not permitted to depart the grid area for service.
- A minimum of five minutes must have elapsed between runs for any car. This includes reruns or runs for another driver of the same car. A grid marshal will be specifically assigned to handle two-driver cars and will keep a time log to assure compliance with the five-minute minimum between runs. The time shall be measured from the time the car returns to grid until the time it leaves grid for the start line.
- Drivers must proceed from the grid to the start line when so directed by a grid official, or that run will be scored as a DNF if a mechanical is not called before reaching the start beam.
- Refueling of the vehicle in Grid is permitted. A fire extinguisher must be present while refueling.
- Heat assignments will be posted on the event page on the SCCA website – SCCA.com–. It is your responsibility to know when your car should be in grid.
F. TIME ATTACK ELEMENTS (Held under the 2025 Time Trials Rules):
- Time Attack competition will consist of three on-track sessions for Element 3. These competition sessions will follow an unscored practice session. Run groups will be assigned by track experience level.
- Time Attack grid order will be based on each driver’s best lap time during practice and will be adjusted as their or other driver’s times improve. As grid spots could potentially change, drivers should not leave anything behind in grid between sessions.
- All drivers will be offered four total sessions, including the practice session, conditions permitting.
- All vehicles must report to Impound following each on track session for their driver debrief. Co-driven cars may bypass impound, but the driver must attend all post session driver debriefs.
- Drivers must have their vehicle in its proper grid order as the grid is released onto track, or that driver will be held until all other drivers in that session complete one full timed lap before being released on to track.
- Refueling of the vehicle in Grid is permitted. A fire extinguisher must be present while refueling.
G. SHOOTOUT INFORMATION:
- The best time from Elements 1, 2, and 3 will be added together to determine class rankings.
- In the event of a tie, the second fastest lap during the Time Attack element will be the tiebreaker.
- Cars will compete in the Shootout with one set of tires. Tires may be rotated between elements, but not replaced unless:
- A tire change is approved by the Chief Steward (Solo) or the Competition Director (Time Attack) for cording or damage beyond driver's control (approval for tire changes is made on a case-by-case basis).
- The Event Lead (Solo) or the Competition Director (Time Attack) call a "Rain Event" for the purpose of allowing tire changes before or during any of the competition elements.
- If a vehicle breaks during the event, the driver may jump into another vehicle. Any car change must be approved by the Chief Steward (Solo) or the Competition Director (Time Attack), and this allowance is not guaranteed. If allowed, and that vehicle is competing within that driver’s original class, they may run either their original wheels and tires, or the competition wheels and tires already being used on the new vehicle. If the move requires a change in class, the driver will forfeit all times prior to that change.
H. PENALTIES FOR INCORRECT NUMBERS OR BARCODES:
- Tech will confirm class, number and that helmet and helmet barcodes are compliant.
- Competitors at the start line with the wrong number on their car, 2 sets of numbers, or the incorrect class showing will receive a warning for the first offense, a cone penalty for the second offense, and may receive a DSQ for three or more offenses at the same event.
- Competitors at the scanner with more than one (1) barcode showing on the helmet will receive a warning for the first offense, a cone penalty for the second offense and may receive a DSQ for three or more offenses at the same event.
- A driver at the scanner or the start line without the appropriate helmet decals (Time Trials 2025) and Tech sticker will be directed away from the start/grid and the run will be scored as a DNF.
I. INQUIRY: Refer to Time Trials Rules Compliance Query, except where amended below.
- Event officials and drivers may file a compliance query regarding drivers in another class.
- Under no circumstances will an inquiry or appeal be allowed to substantially delay the running of any sessions or elements.
- The SCCA Senior Director of Rally/Solo may assess further penalties later.
J. APPEALS: Refer to Solo Rules Section 10, except where amended below.
- The decision of the Query Committee may be appealed. Written notice of intent to appeal, signed by the appellant, specifying the grounds for appeal and including an appeal fee of $200, must be received by the Event Lead within one hour after the announcement of the Query Committee’s decision. The appeal and any supporting evidence must be received by the Event Lead within seven days. An Appeals Committee will be named by the Senior Director of Rally/Solo depending on the nature of the original protest.
- The decision of the Appeals Committee will be final. The decision on the appeal shall be in writing and specify the disposition of the appeal fee. If the appeal is not upheld, the appeal fee will be forfeited. If the appeal is upheld, the appeal fee minus $75.00 will be returned.
K. COURSE MARKERS: Refer to Solo Rules 7.8, Pylons will be marked but NOT be numbered at any Shootout events.
L. RESULTS: Provisional results will be posted at the Timing Trailer for Solo portion of the event and online for Time Attack after completion of all runs for the heat/session. Results for each scored element will be final at the start of the next scored element. Check final results to make sure the manufacturer is correct for your car and tire brand. Official results will be available on the event page at www.scca.com.
