A little late with this Runoffs Report because we’ve been packing trailers and are now “east bound and down” from Kansas.  Here is tonight’s news you should know! It’s almost RUNOFFS TIME!

HAGERTY - Secret’s Out!

The secret is out, Hagerty will have branded merch at the 2022 Runoffs. Supplies are limited, so visit the SCCA Gear event merchandise tent near the Pagoda early to pick up your exclusive Hagerty item.

As one of our primary sponsors, Hagerty will again be part of the Runoffs, to celebrate the winners, thank the volunteers and most importantly, enjoy this incredible event with all the enthusiasts and fans.

A portion of the tee-shirt funds will be given to the volunteers that help this program stay afoot – those who allow us to enjoy this week-long event.

Video Driver’s Meeting – PLEASE WATCH!

Since finding time and space to hold a 500+ driver in-person driver’s meeting is… impossible, Race Director Ken Patterson and Assistant Race Director Steve Pence have created a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2xgnG8Zcqc) to highlight some of the critical differences at the Runoffs, as well as a written drivers letter (https://www.scca.com/downloads/64109-22-runoffs-driver-meeting-letter-final).

Please take a look at each of these, and share them with your teams!

Travel Alert!

If you’re coming to VIR from I-77, the most direct route that map programs want to take you (across US-58 between I-77 and Danville) is not considered “race trailer friendly.” Consulting with the track and several locals, we recommend going down to Winston-Salem, then east to Greensboro, NC and then up US-29 to Danville. It adds just under 40 miles, but maps out to being less than 20 minutes longer, and keeps you on major highways, devoid of cliffs and steep grades.

Also, when approaching the track on NC-57, it is recommended that larger trailers and RVs use Dotmond Road (there is a sign there directing race rigs) rather than Race Track Road, which is just south of Millie’s Pizza in Milton. Race Track Road is narrow and has some tight corners compared to Dotmond. Travel Safe!

CRB & Program Town Halls

In addition to the category-based Town Halls, we have added two “General” sessions to the schedule (Tuesday at 3:30 pm and Wednesday at 11 am). This is an opportunity to discuss program related topics including the Runoffs, Majors/Hoosier Super Tour, Green-To-Checker and more. The panel will include representatives from the CRB, Executive Stewards and staff.

Dates and times of the Town Halls are listed in the event schedule. A form to submit topics in advance is available under “Drivers/Prep Shops” in the Runoffs event page menu (www.scca.com/runoffs) or directly here: https://www.scca.com/forms/2020-runoffs-crb-townhall-topic-form
