Happy Friday everybody!

Six weeks from now, on-site registration and paddock parking will be under way at VIRginia International Raceway. That may seem like it’s still a way’s off, but when we think that the first of our trailers will be leaving in 37 days, it’s just right around the corner!

Here are some key things to know today:

Test Day Grouping Change

As we noted in June (https://www.scca.com/announcements/409-different-timing-line-restart-procedures-highlight-22-runoffs-supps), the Saturday Test Day groupings would likely change as entries came in and we approached the event. We planned for five (5) groups all along, and the Race Director has now split Group 1 (which had B-Spec, EP, FP, HP, GTL, SM, STL, T3 and T4) into two groups because it was full and wait-listed. The revised Test Day Schedule is here: https://www.scca.com/downloads/62325-2022-runoffs-test-day-schedule-web. We now have no groups on Saturday that are currently at the 40-car capacity. You may add test days by editing your registration. Anyone on the wait list for Saturday, Group 1 has been added to the appropriate group.

Parking Update

We have been working to place prep shops and manufacturers, and this process is 98% complete. The live paddock map is now available (https://runoffsparking2022.motorsportreg.com) and includes those that have been assigned thus far. We are still waiting on information to finalize some teams (you know who you are!), and some of the map changes have not yet been incorporated into the live map. Stay tuned.

Single car spaces will be available starting Wednesday, Aug. 24 at noon Central (1pm Eastern). Make sure you are logged into the MSR Map system with the same account that your entry is through. You can select an available space and reserve it at that time.

There will be space for unreserved paddock in the south grass, first come, first served at the event.

VIR & Green-to-Checker

The Race Directors, Clerk of the Course, and Runoffs Team has had good discussion with VIR’s management about the Green-to-Checker initiative. We’re all on board to do everything we can to maximize everyone’s track time and quality. It’s going to take a team effort between all of the drivers, officials and track personnel.

CRB Town Hall Topic Form

The CRB Town Halls held during the Runoffs are a great opportunity to discuss your class with the members of the Club Racing Board and Advisory Committees. To submit a topic for discussion, please fill out this form: https://www.scca.com/forms/2020-runoffs-crb-townhall-topic-form.

Runoffs Team Update

As we enter the final month of preparation before the Runoffs, our office team finds itself unexpectedly short staffed. We expect to be back up to a full roster by the Runoffs, please understand that responses may take a little longer right now.

Have a great weekend,

The Runoffs Team
