Start procedure for the final qualifying session (10/8) of Spec Miata

All cars need to report to grid as soon as the SRF3 clears the grid area.

Cars will be released from grid at the 3 minute warning and split by the position they leave the grid, P1 on the right, P2 on the left, P3 on the right, P4 on the left, and so on. The field will be stopped prior to Pit Out in two columns until the last car leaves the grid.

Once the cars are in position on pit lane and the 5-minute countdown is complete the field will be released, and the session will begin.  The field will take to the track in the order they qualified (single file), and the track will be GREEN. This is similar to the way the field leaves the grid for a race, lining up in two rows in pit lane, before leaving pit out single file.

Once on track on the out lap:

If you want to scrub tires stay driver’s right.  Do not swing from one edge of the track to the other edge. (must stay right of the center of the track while scrubbing tires and warming brakes)

If you want to make your out lap a flier, stay driver’s left until you have cleared the field.
