    ZAMP - Z-Tech Series 1A SFI-38.1 Head Restraint

    Is this device approved?   Anyone have experiences to share?   


    The Z-Tech Series 1A is an advanced SFI 38.1 rated head and neck restraint designed for total adjustability. The advanced multi-axis adjustment of the Z-tech Series 1A allows you to adjust the width, arm angle, and arm width to provide maximum comfort during your racing sessions.

    This restraint is manufactured from glass reinforced nylon to create a lightweight and ultra-durable frame. The helmet tethers are constructed from Kevlar webbing with stainless steel quick connects for quick & easy attachment and detachment from the helmet. 

    The Z-Tech Series 1A is compatible with Snell SA2010, SAH2010, and SA2015 rated helmets. (Note for SA2010 helmets: Check to make sure your helmet has been pre-drilled for use with a helmet restraints.)

    This package includes all of the necessary parts and instructions to set up your helmet including: backing plate nutwashers, anchors, anchor posts, and screws.

      Per GCR 9.3.19.C.2:

      The use of a head and neck restraint system that has been certified in accordance with SFI 38.1 or FIA 8858-2002 or 8858-2010 is required; an SFI 38.1 or FIA 8858-2002 or 8858-2010 label must be properly affixed to the device.

      So, as long as it has the SFI 38.1 label affixed it is acceptable.

      Thank you...this device is significantly less expensive than the original units.   I doubt that it's a "cheap unit"...as you say regarding SFI.  Just wondering what experiences.  I like it because it seems to have a smaller profile.   Your response is appreciated.  ed
