EPA to restrict conversions from stock to race vehicles?
Any truth to this now popping up all over the web? Apparently initiated by SEMA.
I just read the Fox News article on it. Sounds like they are trying to make it so that anything originally intended for the road is not allowed to be used for anything other than the road, so they can enforce their laws upon it. Anything not intended for road use is exempt though, including dirt bikes, four wheelers, UTV's, snow mobiles, etc. It also sounds like any race vehicle that didn't start life as a road legal vehicle is also not subject to this ludacris law the EPA wants to impose. They should just enforce their current laws, it would have more impact on the environment: case in point, my neighbor's smoking '73 Ford sedan that he drives to and from work every day. How is my race car that I drive 500 miles per year going to be worse for the environment?
I guess the value of all our race cars will go up.
