Notes-

  • This is a preproduction tire, and as such Falken is sensitive to information getting out about the tire ahead of release, hence an NDA requirement.
  • In addition to the 4 sets of the prototype tire, Falken will also have 4 sets of fresh 615K+s- if you would like to compare fresh to fresh, please bring wheels to mount the 615 on (we have wheels for the prototype).
  • You are welcome to bring non-Falken tires to the test for back to back comparisons.
  • We will have the practice course form 9-1, and it will be closed to anyone not associated with the test- so we should be able to get plenty of runs in.
  • Sign up is broken into 30 minute windows to have the new Falken Tire, and 30 minute windows to work course.  You may run other tires outside of those two windows.  If demand is greater than the window allows, we will look at options.
  • Realistically, 4 hours, 30 minute windows and 4 sets of tires means 32 cars can get the tires installed- we want to limit each car to 4 runs to keep from overheating the tires- We are going to restrict the sign up to one per car at first- if there is time or tires left at the end we can look at more runs.
  • It is important to remember that this is a pre-production tire, so the primary purpose of this is to get feedback to Falken- they are looking for very basic impressions- “do you think this would make a good tire for SSC?” is not the only one being asked, but it is the most important.  I say this because, we are not going to have much opportunity for tuning on the tire- so we are really just looking for impressions- is this tire a step in the right direction, or not.
