RallyCross National Championship Heads West for 2026, Divisional Challenge Brings Feisty Thrills

There are a lot of reasons to be excited about the 2026 season, especially if you’re an SCCA® RallyCrosser. To loosely borrow from a Feist song: One, two, three, four, we’ll tell you why we love RallyCross more and more. One, the 2026 RallyCross® National Championship is sliding into a new location – one that’s farther west than the event has gone in its 20-year history. Two, the RallyCross Divisional Challenge is back. Three, similar to the RallyCross National Championship, the Divisional Challenge features some exciting new locations. And four, the action will be here before you know it.

This RallyCross action isn’t exactly around the corner, but it’s time to head to the garage and start wrenching on your car because, come the end of May, you’ll be hitting the dirt. The action continues through June and July (with a pinch of August), before everyone begins their prep work for the winner-take-all National Championship event on Oct. 16-18.

Take the Challenge

Remember those viral challenges that took over the internet half a decade after Feist’s popularity waned? Yeah, neither do we. But we do remember RallyCross Divisional Challenges. Why? Because RallyCross Divisional Challenges have been taking place for years and are a blast.

“Divisional Challenge events bring the fun and high-level competition of the National Championship, and puts it on the road,” explained SCCA Senior Director of Rally/Solo Rick Myers. “Whether you plan to attend the National Championship event or not, Divisional Challenges are a whole lot of fun. And remember, winning a Divisional Challenge is one of the steps for claiming the TripleCross award.”

The 2026 RallyCross Divisional Challenge series hits the dirt on May 29-31, with the SCCA Southeast RallyCross Divisional Challenge in Hollytree, AL. Hollytree Off Road played host to the 2024 and 2025 RallyCross National Championship, and with all that space and Region support, it never fails to impress.

The June 19-21 Great Lakes RallyCross Divisional Challenge shifts this year’s event from West Virginia to Owsley County, KY, while the July 3-5 Midwest RallyCross Divisional Challenge sees the series head back to Billy Bob’ Billings RallyX Farms in Billings, OK.

July (specifically 17-19) brings the return of the Southern Pacific RallyCross Divisional Challenge in San Diego, CA, with the Divisional Challenge series wrapping at a new location for the Challenge on July 31-Aug. 2, with the Lake Superior RallyCross Divisional Challenge in Houghton, MI.

National Championship Heads to AZ

Prior to the RallyCross National Championship taking place in Alabama at Hollytree Off Road, the event was held in Kansas, Ohio, and more, with the farthest west the event traveled being Fountain, CO. With 2026 comes a latitudinal shift, with the event taking place Oct 16-18 at the Camp Verde Equestrian Center in Camp Verde, AZ.

“The site will be able to more than support our RallyCross National Championship,” Myers said. “Sean Spring and the Arizona Rally Association have been doing an outstanding job out there for about two years now and they’re ready for us – I’m looking forward to it.”

The history of Arizona Rally Association locating the Camp Verde Equestrian Center site is quite an interesting one, with Arizona Region’s Sean Spring detailing the endeavor a couple of years ago on scca.com.

“We’re really looking forward to having everyone out there,” Spring said during a recent RallyCross town hall meeting. “It’s been a great spot for us. Really picturesque mountains all around, [and] the weather’s going to be great that time of year. Even if it does rain out there, we’ve got two very distinct courses: one is a … crushed granite style, the other side is a little more natural and can kind of get a little slick when it gets wet. One side drains really well and the other gets a little bit more slippery, so keep that in mind for each day and how that might affect you.

“We’re looking forward to having everyone out there.”

In 2026, Arizona Rally Association will play host to the National Championship event and more. For those looking to test the site prior to the Oct. 16-18 National Championship, check out Arizona Rally Association’s website.
