In the News: Texas Region’s Programs Welcome All

SCCA® Regions making the local news thanks to their motorsports program isn’t a rare occurrence – what is rare is when the reporter is actually a participant in the sport for more than one fun run.

Brittany Breeding is not just KDAF-TV CW33’s host of the station’s “Fast + Functional” segment, she’s also a self-described autocrosser, so it made sense that she would eventually bring Texas Region’s RE Nolan Eberl onto the show.

With a broadcast reaching the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Breeding and Eberl’s conversation ran the gamut of the Region’s offerings in Texas, including the Tire Rack Street Survival program, autocross, track days, and road racing.

Breeding, it should be noted, is an SCCA member herself, with a multitude of Solo® events under her belt – she’s even been on track.

“One thing I love about this program is that you guys are so welcoming to beginners,” Breeding said during the interview. “When I started, I didn’t know anything about this, but everyone took me under their wing and showed me the ropes.”

“The thing is, there’s nobody involved in this sport that doesn’t want it to grow,” Eberl replied. “We’re all very happy to see new people join the sport. If you show up in a car that’s the same car I have, we’re probably going to latch on to you right away. I got started in this at a very young age, and actually moved to Texas about eight years ago and I didn’t know anybody in Texas … [my] immediate friend group was the people I was able to do SCCA events with. Everybody is just happy to have more people to compete against, more folks to enjoy it with.”
