What would you do if you had access to one of the best racing circuits in the U.S. and had a weekend to fill? If you’re anything like us, you’d invite everyone you know to get on track – from super green beginners to seasoned track dogs. Then we’d divide the weekend so people looking for no-stress, non-timed laps can get their thrills, while also offering timed competition for those hunting for even more grins.
It's not only what we would do, it’s what we’ve done!
The SCCA® National Championship Runoffs®, the Club’s premier winner-take-all road race, is taking place at Road America in Plymouth, WI, from Sept. 29-Oct. 5, 2025, but as luck would have it, Road America was available the weekend prior (Sept. 26-28), so we snapped up the date so all of our friends could get on track, too.
In case you didn’t know: You’re one of our friends.
The Schedule
On Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, we’ll be hosting a Track Night in America® Driven by Tire Rack, where anyone – regardless of skill level – is welcome to lap Road America’s 4.048-mile, 14-turn circuit. Whether you’ve driven on track hundreds of times, or this is your first go-round, Track Night is for you. The event offers three 25-minute sessions in a variety of experience level groups, with coaches on hand to ensure everyone is maximizing their fun.
To jump into a Track Night, all you need is a mechanically sound street vehicle and an approved helmet (which, if you need one, you can purchase at Track Night’s Safety Store).
Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, brings an event similar to Track Night, but rather than taking place in the afternoon on a weekday, Hagerty Track Days are held on weekends – and on this day, you’ll receive four 30-minute on-track sessions. Like with Track Night, there will be a variety of groups for drivers of all experience levels – you just need to bring a street car and an approved helmet.
Both Track Nights and Hagerty Track Days offer non-timed lapping. Sunday is when we flip the clocks on.
On Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, we’ll be hosting a one-day Tire Rack SCCA Shootout, where drivers will compete both on track and on an autocross course. Competitors will receive four on-track sessions as well as four autocross runs. Their fastest times will add together to create their overall score. Drivers will then celebrate on the famed Road America podium.
However…
All of this has come about so quickly that we don’t have registration links set up yet, so you’ll need to keep an eye on SCCA.com, Track Night in America’s webpage, SCCA’s Facebook page, or (AND!) subscribe to SCCA’s SportsCar® News weekly newsletter for the latest info.
We’ll see you in September!
