Women on Track Showcase: Week 3

As has become tradition, the SCCA Women on Track Initiative is celebrating Women’s History Month by showcasing women from all across the SCCA during March. Some of these women blazed the path for others behind the wheel, while many have left their marks or continue to inspire women in leadership and support roles.

Profiles are posted daily on the SCCA Women on Track Facebook Page, and a weekly wrap-up will be available on SCCA.com and the SCCA Women on Track webpage.

Hayley Myers

Lone Star Region | 2-year member | Time Trials, Trackside, Road Racing

Hayley Myers is an amateur racecar driver and motorsport enthusiast originally from Manchester, England. Hayley now resides in Austin, Texas, USA to be close to her dream race track, Circuit of the Americas. A passionate childhood follower of Formula 1 and anything to do with cars (especially JDM cars), the track bug began in a Ferrari 355 Challenge at Oulton Park in 2000 in England. Hooked was an understatement. 16 years later, Hayley started driving and learning in U.S. HPDEs at road courses across Texas, one week after purchasing her dream car, a Nissan GT-R. After setting record lap times at ECR in 2016 in her stock GT-R, Hayley was asked to become a part of the ECR Instructor Team. Since the summer of 2016, Hayley has earned her way onto prestigious Instructor Teams, while also volunteering with HPDEs, SCCA and FIA as a Pit Lane, Hospitality, and Flag Marshal and captures and posts social media content for the Lone Star Texas Region SCCA. In February 2022, Hayley accomplished a motorsport career goal of being invited to compete in her Nissan GT-R at the ultimate time attack race, Super Lap Battle at Circuit of the Americas in Austin TX USA. Hayley says that "friendship, family, competition, learning, and fun with cars are what keep me coming back to SCCA!"

Jenn Krpatan

New York Region | 6-year member | Road Racing

Jenn Krpata is a second- generation Driver from Long Island, New York. During the past 12 seasons, she has been competitively competing in various types and styles of vehicles; karts, Oval Racing Late Models and Roading Racing GTA and GT2 full bodied cars. Throughout the 5 season she have been competing in SCCA Road Racing, she has won, as well as, podium finished at multiple events, been awarded the 2019 South Jersey Region GTA Champion and set a GT2 Track Record at New Jersey Motorsports Park; Thunderbolt, Pro-Circuit.

"Regardless of my overall personal racing goals, one thing I believe in strongly is how crucial it is to always lead as a role model with the upmost morals on and off the track while motivating the next generation with an alike passion for motorsports to succeed and follow ones dreams," said Jenn. "Getting involved in racing at SCCA has been and continues to be an amazing experience each and every event. The South Jersey Region is where I mainly compete and everyone involved makes you feel as if you've known each other forever and are lifelong friends."

Lynne Rothney-Kozlak

New England Region | 37-year member | Solo

Lynne Rothney-Kozlak took a leap of faith to switch from Ladies to Open division classes at the SCCA Solo National Championships in 1994, one of only a few women at the time to do so. Since then, she has had decades of sustained competition in open classes. While competing in the Ladies division, Lynne won 5 Ladies Class SCCA Solo National Championships (FSL and DSL), 3 Ladies Class SCCA ProSolo National Championships, and in 1993 was the first woman to win SCCA's Solo Driver the Year. Between 1994 and 2023 Lynne had 5 podium finishes plus 9 other (14 total) Open stock and street category class trophies at the SCCA Solo National Championships (FS, BS, AS, SSR). Competing in the SCCA ProSolo Open class National Championships, Lynne won FS in 1997 and 2003 - the only woman to have won two Open class championships - and has won 3 other National Championship year-end trophies (FS, BS, AS). "SCCA has given me so many opportunities to compete in motorsports, something I was likely destined to do but had no other avenues to do so growing up, other than racing on the street starting at age 16," said Lynne. "SCCA Solo has also given me the opportunity to make many lifelong friends!"

Heather Ingraham

Chicago Region | 5-year member | Trackside, Track Events, Time Trials

Heather says, "Family definitely got me here!" She is the child of a dad who loved driving the Santa Monica canyons on weekends and a mom whose deep knowledge of motorsports history meant that the family spent weekends spectating at Riverside, Ascot, Ontario, and Long Beach. "But it was seeing my sister, Mina, put in the work over the years and become a two-time Solo National Champion in STU Ladies that made me realize competitive driving can be for women, too," said Heather. "Her example and guidance got me started, and while autocross wasn't quite for me, I trophies at my first TrackSprint and have been in love with track driving ever since."

"The SCCA's welcoming environment has been, in my experience, a reality rather than a slogan, and some clubs don't even have that concept as a goal," Heather explained. "From ridealongs to volunteering, to driving to national events, the SCCA has challenged and supported me to keep growing, and I am very grateful to the regional and national "track family" who make #funwithcars a warm and wonderful reality."

Charina Jones

Northwest Ohio Region | 18-year member | Solo

Charina started autocrossing in the fall of 2004 but before that she had the opportunity to travel with her Aunt and Uncle (Elaine and Robert Crismas) since 2000. Starting out in a 2002 Honda Civic EX she drove various cars over the years, now she frequents a a Solstice GXP in FP with her husband Alex. The most fun car she has ever had the opportunity to run though was a Porsche 911 Turbo in XP. "The people are the driving part of our community," said Charina. "The fact an autocrosser will drive hours to help you out and expect nothing in return... I consider my autocross friends to be family."

Kristen Lingenfelter

Western Michigan Region | 1-year member | RoadRally & Solo

Kristen is a huge advocate for women in racing and very much enjoys the sport herself. She is extremely passionate about the racing community and is looking forward to her growth in the sport, hopefully surrounded by women like herself. She just got Rookie of the year NCCC MI Region. Looking forward to many more accomplishments ahead.

Kristen joined the SCCA to enhance her ability to meet like-minded people looking to have fun as well as be competitive in the Motorsports racing industry. Currently part of the National Council of Corvette Club, being part of the SCCA is an enhancement to her existing racing family.

Nicole Hecker

Central Florida Region | 10-year member | Road Racing

Nicole Hecker is an American racing driver from Ormond Beach, Florida. She progressed from a successful karting career into road racing with the SCCA in 2015. She won the regional points championship in EP her first year with SCCA and has gone on to win several more points championships since. Her passion for racing comes from her family as her father (Randy Hecker) and grandfather (Richard "Dick" Hecker) both had successful oval track careers. "I have grown up around racing and when I wanted to start racing myself, my father, who had been an oval track racer himself, wanted me to compete in a safer environment than he did, explained Nicole. "SCCA Club Racing has not only given us that environment, but a whole racing family to go with it. Most everyone in CFR is friendly and supportive and all the volunteers work hard to ensure as safe of environment as possible. The club allows me to pursue my passion of racing and has even deepened my love for it as I now wish to race professionally."
