Now Hiring: Two Staff Additions on the Marketing Horizon

The Sports Car Club of America® is expanding its Marketing team in 2024 – growing the current five-person team to seven – with the addition of a Social Media Coordinator and either a Creative Manager or a Multi-Channel Marketer. All are remote positions and are now open for resumes.

“Over the last few years, we’ve focused on building a solid foundation for the Club’s marketing needs,” said Kristen Poole, SCCA’s Director of Marketing and Communications. “With the pivot away from the printed SportsCar Magazine in 2024, it’s time to add additional horsepower to the team to support the evolving digital marketing and communications needs of the Club.

The first open position – expected to hire early in the New Year – is a Social Media Coordinator. The chosen candidate will work with the Marketing team to craft the overall social media strategy, and will be responsible for its day-to-day execution across social media platforms, the creation of engaging social content to drive membership and participation growth, and advancing the Club’s social media reach and advertising. This position will provide needed focus on the fast-evolving landscape of social media to position the Club more favorably with younger generations – and create a stronger SCCA presence in the landscape of motorsports sanctioning bodies.

The Marketing department has opened two additional job postings, but will only fill one of them.

“We’ve got this great mix of talent on the marketing team,” said Poole. “We’re just looking for more horsepower so we can serve the organization from a place of proactive growth, and we can do that in one of two ways – hiring a Creative Manager or another Multi-Channel Marketer.”

The Multi-Channel Marketing position is one of flexibility, depending on the candidate’s experience and skillsets. In general, this position helps structure and support an integrated set of digital, multi-channel marketing functions to respond to the organization’s needs rapidly and efficiently. From working with internal stakeholders to produce collateral, to SEO, content marketing and more, this position will work in tandem with a peer of the same title to execute the evolving marketing needs of the SCCA, and collaborate with Poole to develop overall marketing and advertising strategy.

The Creative Manager position would require a versatile graphic designer who is well versed in both digital and print design. This position would support the entire Club with graphic designs conforming to established brand standards while continuing to develop as new style trends emerge. As the name indicates, this position also assists with upholding brand standards and graphic integrity across the organization and its various assets.

“The goal is, of course, to hire candidates that are a good fit for the organization – both in talent and culture,” said Poole. “We’re fortunate to be able to cast a wide net with these varied positions, and we’re excited to find that boost in horsepower in the ‘off season.’”
