Creventic 24H SERIES Brings Int'l Endurance Racing Back to the US

For immediate release from SCCA Pro Racing

(SEBRING) – September 8, 2021 – The FIA-approved 24H SERIES powered by Hankook is making its United States stop at Sebring International Raceway on November 18-20, 2021 with sanctioning assistance by SCCA Pro Racing.

With international travel hurdles preventing a 2020 event, the Netherlands-based endurance series has added the US back to their schedule at a different track than previously raced.

“We are very much looking forward to hosting an official 24H SERIES event once again in North America this November,” explains Ole Dörlemann, CREVENTIC’s sporting director. “In three of the last four years, the 24H SERIES season-closer has been held in the United States, and CREVENTIC is very excited to continue this tradition with the first-ever Hankook 24H SEBRING.”

Due to previous local mandates, this will be the first time CREVENTIC will be running the race for 24 hours straight, without any breaks.

“To host the longest motor race ever to be held at one of the most vaunted circuits in the world is truly a bucket list item, and we cannot wait to share the innate character at the heart of the 24H SERIES with an American audience once again,” Dörlemann continued.

The series’ schedule features iconic circuits all over the world aimed at all levels of drivers from amateurs and gentleman drivers to professional and semi-pro drivers.

“A late-season 24-Hour event from CREVENTIC is a tremendous addition to the Sebring schedule,” said Wayne Estes, President and General Manager of Sebring International Raceway.  “CREVENTIC provides world-class competition in multiple GT classes and Sebring fans will experience some of the best sports car racing in the world here at the Birthplace of American Endurance Racing.”

With seven classes running, there’s something for everyone, drivers and fans alike. The liberal technical regulations allow teams to enter cars without having to conform to the 24H Series specifications, allowing them to save costs.

“There has been a United States presence in previous events, and we’re hoping that continues again this year,” Sydney Davis Yagel, General Manager of SCCA Pro Racing said. “The CREVENTIC team has done a fantastic job of providing ample information and package options for teams and drivers to compete in this unique and fun endurance event. Having been involved from their first trip to the US, I’m excited to experience the non-stop 24-hour format.”

The 2019 SCCA T2 National Champion Cooper MacNeil was a part of the Black Falcon Mercedes-AMG GT3 overall winning team two years ago at the 2019 Hankook 24H COTA USA.

“CREVENTIC puts on a solid, well-organized event,” MacNeil said of his first 24-hour race win. “Incidents were handled quickly and appropriately, and the SCCA volunteers did a fantastic job of using blue flags as we made our way through the race traffic.”

The second-generation SCCA driver enjoyed his experience and would run again if an opportunity presented itself.

“We won the 12 Hours of Sebring this year, and to go back again and try for a 24-hour win would be both special and grueling,” MacNeil said. “If my schedule allows it, I’d be interested in coming back.”

CREVENTIC has packages available for both drivers and teams wishing to run the Hankook 24H SEBRING event. More information can be found by downloading this flyer.

Like with most professional events, the magic wouldn’t happen without the assistance of volunteers. Central Florida Region will be coordinating the staffing for the event, a role they are all too familiar with.

“Central Florida Region’s history in staffing premiere events such as the Rolex 24 and the 12 Hours of Sebring combines the local experience of marshals in all specialties with those from across the United States and the globe,” Stephen Mullen, Regional Executive said. “Our world-class marshals will match the same quality of racing that CREVENTIC will bring to its premiere event at Sebring.”

Volunteers can register online now to be a part of the action as flag, pit lane, or fuel marshals.

Flag marshals have a trackside seat to 24 hours of racing action and will communicate track conditions to the drivers as they navigate the 3.74-mile track. Pit lane marshals observe teams and assist the 24H Series officials with ensuring safe pit stops and will help set the starting grid. Unique to the championship, all in-race fueling is done at a central fueling station. It will be the job of the fuel marshal to ensure safe and accurate refueling during sessions.
