Edwards Joins SCCA Solo/Experiential Staff

SCCA Solo National Champion and longtime multi-discipline participant Nikki Edwards has joined the SCCA National Office in a fulltime role in the Solo and Experiential Department, serving as the Solo/Experiential Programs Communications Coordinator.

In the newly created role, Edwards will coordinate pre- and post-event communications for National Solo, Time Trials and Track Night participants, providing a consistent look, feel, tone and clarity for new and experienced participants and easing the anxiety for those unsure of their next steps after registering for an event.

“I’m super excited to be a part of the team and looking forward to helping participants prepare for events,” Edwards said. “I can remember how intimidating it was to learn the ropes as a new participant, so I want to help to provide the information everyone needs to enjoy their event and also become aware of the many options the club has available to them and their cars.”

Edwards joined SCCA as an autocross participant in 2008, winning the FSPL National Championship in 2012 and 2015. From there, her participation grew, adding Flagging & Communications in 2018 and a road racing competition license in 2019. Her SCCA background also includes work as an on-site admin at Track Night in America and at Time Trials events, as well as a Time Trials participant.

Outside of SCCA, Edwards’ professional focus has been in customer service. Most recently, the UNC-Greensboro grad spent the past 10 years as a Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative at McGriff Insurance Services.

“Our department and this office is grateful to be able to add someone of Nikki’s caliber and background to our team,” Heyward Wagner, Senior Director of Rally/Solo and Experiential Programs, said. “With her onboard, we’ll be able to more efficiently communicate with our specific event participants and give them the information needed to enjoy any of the SCCA events they choose to participate in.”
