For the first time in its three-year history, the Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials Nationals Powered by Hagerty has reached the entry cap and is officially a sold-out event, with 250 competitors on the entry list.
“This is a really important milestone in the rebooting of the Time Trials program,” Heyward Wagner, Director of Marketing/Experiential Programs, said. “For three years we’ve been working with our partners at Tire Rack, Hagerty and NCM Motorsports park to increase access to motorsports in people’s street cars. As we look forward to the event, the team is continuing to focus on the overall event experience and we’re excited to deliver four full days of #funwithcars.”
The 2020 Time Trials Nationals, September 24-27 at NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky, will naturally look different than years past. A number of safety measures and social distancing requirements will be in place and communicated to participants in advance of the event.
The four-day event beings on Thursday, which features three 20-minute practice sessions that are timed for reference, but not scored. Those three sessions will repeat on Friday, and the best time of the day will count in your final score. Saturday will feature morning and afternoon TrackSprint sessions, adding two more elements to the final score. Sunday’s Time Attack sessions—when a driver knows the track best—will be in small groups for an ultimate best time. Those four weekend times will determine finishing order for the class and overall KONI Podium and trophies.
Those who were not among the first 250 to register before and are still interested in attending should absolutely follow the process to join the waiting list. The ever-changing dynamic of this 2020 makes it increasingly likely that some already registered will be unable to attend, opening up spots prior to the event. Likewise, those who have registered but may feel uncomfortable or unable to attend at any point prior to the event may receive a full refund.
