Jalopnik Features Longtime SCCA Member

With 67,500 members, it’s no surprise the Sports Car Club of America® has more than its fair share of interesting persons and personalities. Club members come from all walks of life, and bring with them a kaleidoscope of life experiences.

Recently, Jalopnik.com writer David Obuchowski sat down and spent some time with one longtime SCCA member, Jim Barbour, to learn his story.  The Florida man is a member of both the Central Florida Region and New England Region, and has been part of the SCCA for nearly 60 years. He has served the Club in many different roles, and helped grow motorsports in the United States.

Of course, Jim has lots of interesting stories to tell about his involvement with automobiles and auto racing over the years, but also has some great stories about, well, life. So if you’re looking for reading material to pass the time on your commute or during lunchtime, we highly suggest you check out the Jalopnik story titled, “From Tuskegee Airman to Racing Godfather, Jim Barbour Is the Living Legend You Don’t Know About.
