Track Night in America To Be Part of The Mitty at Road Atlanta

TOPEKA, Kan. (March 6, 2017) – SCCA’s Track Night in America® Driven by Tire Rack is taking its TrackPass program to the Classic Motorsports Mitty Presented by Hagarty this April at Road Atlanta, allowing car enthusiasts to both experience a celebration of motorsports history and drive a street car, at speed, around the famed Road Atlanta circuit.

Track Night in America is a non-competitive, no-stress, entertaining, easy and inexpensive way for nearly anyone who loves cars or motorsports to get on a real racecourse in their own vehicle during weeknights. All that is required is that participants be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license and have access to a helmet and street car in good working condition.

The TrackPass concept takes the traditional Track Night experience one gear higher, pairing it with a ticket and SCCA car corral to a major motorsports event at a professional-level race track – in this case, the famed vintage racing event, the Mitty.

“TrackPass is the next level of Track Night in America driven by Tire Rack, extending the weekend,” Heyward Wagner, SCCA Director of Experiential Programs, said. “As a motorsports fan, to drive on track and then get an up close and personal look at motorsports history, at a bargain price, is a dream trip.”

Participants in the $210 event will get a Track Night in America evening on Wednesday, April 19 – an hour of track time around the very same circuit that annually hosts the 10-hour Petit Le Mans each October. Participants will also get admission to the event for all three days, and a parking spot in the SCCA car corral.

Registrants may also purchase premium items at the time of registration, including a Sports Car Club of America membership and a Black Armor helmet, all at a discount from retail pricing.

Those in attendance on the weekend at the Classic Motorsports Mitty can also participate in the Grassroots Motorsports Magazine Skidpad Challenge, an open invitation for car owners to circle Road Atlanta’s famous Turn Seven skidpad complex, for free.

Porsche is the featured marque at this year’s event, bringing classic race Porsches to life on the track.

Registration is now open for the event here.

Those who have already purchased tickets for the Classic Motorsports Mitty but want to participate in TrackPass should email Jack@TrackNightinAmerica.com.

No previous on-track experience or SCCA membership is required to join in the fun.  Drivers participate in the Advanced, Intermediate or KONI Novice Experience group so on-track activities remain fun for all, and everyone gets three 20-minute sessions on course -- as well as feedback from SCCA driver coaches on site.
