Marcus Merideth Appointed Area 4 Director

TOPEKA, Kansas (December 1, 2016) – Marcus Merideth, a 26-year member of the Sports Car Club of America and a stalwart in the Club’s autocross community, has been appointed to fill the remainder of the SCCA Board of Directors Area 4 term, effective immediately.

Merideth, who previously served as Area 4 Director from 2009-2011, has held numerous volunteer positions with the Club. Merideth has chaired the Solo Events Board, and in his home Region served on the Detroit Region Board of Directors and as Region Executive.

The 52-year-old has remained active in the Solo community, where he has been a Solo Safety Steward, Chief Steward and Operating Steward, as well as an event Chair. He also designed one of the two Championship courses at the 2016 Tire Rack Solo National Championships. Merideth has held a road racing competition license, and has worked in flagging and communications, and competed in SCCA RallyCross and Road Rally events.

The Area 4 seat was previously held by Steve Harris, who unexpectedly passed away in November. The seat will be re-elected through the procedures outlined in the SCCA by-laws in late 2017.
