Nomination Reminder for SCCA Hall of Fame

TOPEKA, Kan. (Oct. 7, 2015) – Since its first induction class in 2005, the SCCA Hall of Fame has honored a total of 63 individuals. These inductees represent people that have not only had an influence on the Club, but that have also changed North American motorsports landscape in a sizeable way.

Current members of the Hall of Fame include not only racers, but organizers and other individuals who helped make SCCA what it is today. The names range from U.S. Air Force General Curtis E. LeMay, a supporter of SCCA in its early days by allowing the Club to utilize military airbases to host events, to Dr. Bob Hubbard and Jim Downing, the creators of one of the most recent safety advances in motorsports – the HANS Device.

At the 2016 SCCA National Convention, at the Southpoint Hotel and Convention Center in Las Vegas, five new members will be inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of the Hall of Fame Induction Banquet Presented by Mazda.

Any SCCA member in good standing can submit a nomination to the Nomination Committee for consideration. Nominations should be approximately two pages in length and summarize the individual’s background and reasons for consideration. Completed nominations must be submitted to the committee before Friday, Oct. 16., via email, to SCCAHoF@scca.com, or mail, to SCCA Hall of Fame, 6620 SE Dwight St., Topeka, KS 66619.

After this year’s Oct. 16 deadline, the Nomination Committee will compile the nominations and forward those to the Selection Committee, who will choose the new class of inductees by Dec. 14.
