D Modified is shaping up to be a battle between Jeff Cashmore and Mark Huffman. Cashmore came off the trailer fast and has been hovering around the low 49-second mark. Huffman was the only other driver to break into the 49-second bracket, but was not able to match the time set by Cashmore.

Robert Lewis sits atop the mountain in C Prepared, which totals 38 drivers. Lewis methodically worked his times down, logging the best lap on his last look at the East Course. He goes into the final day of competition at the Tire Rack Solo National Championships with a 0.189-second lead over Tommy Pulliam.
