Heat 1/East Course

Following a six year break from Nationals, Karen Kolk came back to the world’s largest motorsports competition and captured her second national title. Aside from being away from this level of autocross competition, Kolk notched the win by beating Laura Campbell – a 2014 National Champion. Kolk wasn’t the fastest on the East Course, which saw all but two drivers in the class take at least one cone penalty, but had built enough of a cushion after day one to win.

Andrew Smedegard won his first National Championship against a field of 52 other drivers. Alex Muresan was the day-one leader, but Smedegard pulled out all the stops on his second run to overcome the deficit.
