Two of Three Qualifying Sessions Complete at Watkins Glen Majors

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (July 3, 2015) – A pair of 25-minute qualifying sessions are complete as 27 Runoffs-eligible classes set times on the historic 11-turn, 3.4-mile Watkins Glen International circuit in preparation for Rounds Seven and Eight of the SCCA Northeastern Majors Tour, part of the SafeRacer Club Racing Program.

A short 15-minute qualifying session is all that remains before the seven race groups are turned loose for Saturday’s 30-minute sprint races. Sunday’s on-track action is made up, exclusively, of seven 15-lap feature races.

The grids for Saturday’s sprint races, which begin at 11:00 a.m. (EDT), will be ordered based on the best lap completed by each driver during the three qualifying sessions. Sunday’s races, which are set to begin at 9:10 a.m. (EDT), will have its starting order based on the best lap by each driver throughout the weekend’s previous sessions.
