Worker of the Year Awards Announced at 2010 SCCA Runoffs

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (Sept. 23, 2010) €“ The 2010 SCCA Club Racing Worker of the Year Awards were presented on Thursday, Sept. 23, at Road America, during the 2010 SCCA National Championship Runoffs® presented by Subway. Every year, the Sports Car Club of America requests nominations from its members for Worker of the Year in their specialty categories. From the pool of nominees, a peer group from each worker specialty selects who they feel has earned Worker of the Year honors. Each of the Worker of the Year award winners will be featured in a 2011 issue of SportsCar Magazine. €œThe workers are a key ingredient in our club, and without their contributions we wouldn€™t be able to put on our racing events,€ Jeff Dahnert, SCCA President and CEO, said. €œThis is one night of the year where we can stand up and recognize the work that they all put in during the season as volunteers, and single out just a few who have been recognized by their peers.€ This year€™s winners include: Emergency Services - John Kielb (Cal Club Region) Flagging and Communications €“ Verne Wandell (Western Michigan Region) Pit and Grid - Joelle Pence (Southern West Virginia Region) Race Administration - Michelle McColl (Colorado Region) Registration - Mary Ann Kendall (Blackhawk Valley Region) Scrutineer - Dave Kettler (Milwaukee Region) Sound - Jason Briggs (Cincinnati Region) Starter - Nancy Pratt (Des Moines Valley Region) Steward - Barb Knox (Cal Club Region) Timing and Scoring - Aimee Hubiak and Betsy Banner (Milwaukee Region) A list of all previous Worker of the Year winners is available at www.scca.com.
