TOPEKA, Kan. (August 11, 2011) – Eighteen Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) racers in six different categories have earned prizes after the inaugural season of the BFGoodrich® Tires SCCA® Super Tour, with the top point scorer of each category entered into a grand prize drawing for a Baja-style adventure courtesy of BFGoodrich® Tires. On behalf of the BFGoodrich Tires Super Tour, the SCCA offered cash prizes for the top three point scorers in six individual categories of National class racing. The top two point-scoring drivers in each of the six categories will receive $500, with the third-ranking driver awarded $200. Points for the Super Tour prizes are based on the SCCA SafeRacer National Series point structure, including bonus points. In addition to the cash prizes, BFGoodrich Tires has placed each of the six category top point earners into a drawing for a Wide Open Excursions “Weekend Warrior” Package. Wide Open places visitors in a Baja Challenge off-road vehicle equipped with BFGoodrich® Mud-Terrain T/A® KM2 tires, just like the ones that run the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 race each year. The remaining five category winners will be awarded a set of BFGoodrich® tires of their choice (track or street). The grand prize drawing will be held at the SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Road America, Sept. 19-25. SCCA Club Racing National classes were divided into six categories: Small Formula classes (Formula Enterprises, Formula F, Formula Mazda, Formula 500 and Formula Vee); Small Bore (E, F, and H Production, GT-Lite, and Super Touring Under); Big Bore (GT-1, GT-2, and GT3, American Sedan, and Super Touring Over); Spec (Spec Racer Ford, Spec Miata), Touring/Showroom Stock (Touring 1, 2 and 3, Showroom Stock B and C), and Big Formula and Sports Racing.(Formula Atlantic, Formula 1000, Formula Continental, C and D Sports Racing and Sports 2000). The top three point scorers in each category are: Small Formula: CJ McAbee (F5), Scott Rettich (FE), Patrick Gallagher (FE) Small Bore: Bob Bramlage (FP), Justin Pritchard (EP), James Rogerson (HP) Big Bore: Robert Lentz (GT2), Kerry Bonner (GT3), Michael Levigne (AS) Spec: Scott Rettich (SRF), Tyler Vance (SM), Matthew Reynolds (SM) Touring/Showroom Stock: Jim Place (SSC), Michael Scornavacchi (SSB), Tie – Joel Lipperini (SSC) and Mark McCaughey Big Formula/Sports Racing: Jacek Mucha (CSR), Edward Guenther (S2), Jack Donnellan (S2) McAbee, Bramlage, Lentz, Rettich, Place and Mucha will be entered into the BFGoodrich Tires grand prize drawing.
