Advisory Committee Formed For CSR/DSR Combination, SR2 Class

TOPEKA, Kan. (June 21, 2012) -- The SCCA Formula Sports Racing Advisory Committee (FSRAC) is asking interested club members from the Sports Racing Community to serve on two Ad Hoc Committees to develop and propose rules for the combined CSR and DSR class for 2014 and beyond and to write a proposal for SR2.

The committee’s make up is not limited to car owners and drivers and may include manufacturers and engine builders. The duration of the Ad Hoc Committees is not to exceed two years, and each will report to the FSRAC.

Interested club members should submit a resume through the CRB Letter Submission Form; category F-FS; Class SR. In addition to general personal information, the resume must also outline SCCA involvement, SR involvement and interest and reasons you would like to serve. The Ad Hoc Committees will each select their own chairperson, who will provide monthly reports to the FSRAC. They will meet at least once a month via the SCCA conference call facility with the following objectives:

CSR/DSR Combination Ad Hoc Rule set for combined CSR/DSR class for 2014, rules should allow for the creation of the new SR2 class.

SR2 Ad Hoc Concept and rules for a new SR class positioned between SRF and the combined CSR/DSR class. The new class, if possible, should be inclusive of S2, ESR cars, Radicals and DSR’s not suitable for inclusion in the combined CSR/DSR class. The final proposal, if any, approved by the FSRAC will be submitted to the CRB for consideration to be sent to the BOD. The use of both automotive based and motorcycle based engines will be key to the proposals moving forward.
