Friday Marks Early Registration Deadline, Price Break For Runoffs

TOPEKA, Kan. (August 22, 2012) – This Friday, August 24 at 11:59 p.m. CDT marks the deadline for early registration to the SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Road America.

The 49th SCCA National Championship Runoffs will be held for the fourth time on Road America’s four-mile circuit, September 18-23. Registering before the early entry deadline saves a racer $200 on entry fees to the prestigious event. Full price registrations will be accepted online through Monday, Sept. 10, and with the paper form through the start of the event.

Qualifying begins for some classes on Tuesday, September 18, with races running Thursday through Sunday of Championship week.

During qualifying, two classes are traditionally paired together to set their fast lap. The largest run groups for Tuesday and Wednesday’s sessions will be separated based on the number of registered cars at this week’s close of early registration – another incentive for participants to register early.

While registering for the event, competitors should also be sure to sign-up for appropriate contingency programs at the SCCA National Championship Runoffs. SCCA Contingency sponsors give drivers the opportunity to take home thousands of dollars in cash and merchandise for a top finish, though many have pre-registration requirements.
