World Challenge Streams Live from Lime Rock This Weekend

TOPEKA, Kan. (July 3, 2013) – The Pirelli World Challenge travels to Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn., where all four classes will be in action. Each racing lap can be found live online through www.world-challengetv.com.

The GT and GTS classes will settle Rounds Eight and Nine of the 2013 championship. James Sofronas, of Villa Park, Calif., leads the GT drivers’ championship, scoring six top-three finishes so far this year. Cadillac’s Johnny O’Connell, of Flowery Branch, Ga., sits 146 markers behind Sofronas, but may be hitting his stride following a win and a second-place finish in Detroit. Randy Pobst, of Gainesville, Ga., sits in third, with 675 points.

In GTS, Jack Baldiwn, of Marietta, Ga., has held onto the top spot of the drivers’ leaderboard since the season-opener in St. Petersburg. Following some recent success in Austin and Detroit, Mark Wilkins, of Toronto, has jumped into second in the drivers’ standings, 86 points behind Baldwin. The ever-consistent Peter Cunningham, of Milwaukee, Wis., holds down third in the drivers’ championship with 570 points, ready to take advantage of any mistake made by Baldwin or Wilkins.

Touring Car and Touring Car B-Spec are back in action for another tripleheader event, running Rounds Four through Six. The Compass 360 teammates of Ryan Winchester, of Mason City, Iowa, Brett Sandberg, of Allendale, N.J., and Remo Ruscitti, of Vancouver, sit atop the TC drivers’ standings, in that order. Winchester leads Sanberg by 57 markers, while Ruscitti has collected 301 points.

In TCB, Ernie Francis, Jr., of Davie, Fla., leads the drivers’ championship after sweeping the all three rounds of racing in Austin. Charlie James, of Joplin, Mo., is the closest contender to Francis in the driver’s standings, 108 points behind. Robbie Davis, of Dallas, currently sits third with 270 points.
