World Challenge Streams Live from Houston This Weekend

TOPEKA, Kan. (Oct. 1, 2013) – The Pirelli World Challenge travels to the Foametix Houston Grand Prix, in Houston, Texas, where all four classes will be in action for the final event of the season. Each racing lap can be found live online through www.world-challengetv.com.

The GT and GTS classes will settle Round 14 of the 2013 championships. James Sofronas, of Villa Park, Calif., leads the GT drivers’ championship, with 1,360 points, after a string of three-straight podium finishes. Johnny O’Connell, of Flowery Branch, Ga., sits 21 markers behind Sofronas, coming off 11th- and 12th-place finishes at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Sonoma Raceway, respectively. O’Connell’s Cadillac teammate, Andy Pilgrim, of Boca Raton, Fla., sits in third, with 1,284 points.

In GTS, Jack Baldwin, of Marietta, Ga., still holds the drivers’ championship lead, a position he has held since the season-opener in St. Petersburg, with 1,297 points. Lawson Aschenbach, of Jupiter, Fla., sits second in the championship, 46 markers behind Baldwin. Mark Wilkins, of Toronto, sits in third after collecting 1,250 points.

Touring Car and Touring Car B-Spec are also in action for a doubleheader weekend, running Rounds 13 and 14. The Compass 360 teammates of Ryan Winchester, of Mason City, Iowa, Brett Sandberg, of Allendale, N.J., and Remo Ruscitti, of Vancouver, sit atop the TC drivers’ standings, in that order. Winchester leads Sandberg by 297 markers, while Ruscitti has collected 1,064 points. Winchester only needs to make the start for both races to sew up the drivers’ title.

In TCB, Ernie Francis, Jr., of Davie, Fla., sits atop the drivers’ championship with 1,242 points, after notching seven wins on the season. Robbie Davis, of Dallas, sits second in the drivers’ standings, only one marker behind. Joel Lipperini, of Pittston, Penn., currently sits third with 1,128 points.
