Results from 2011 SCCA Board Elections Announced

TOPEKA, Kan. (November 15, 2011) - Sports Car Club of America, Inc. announced the results for the four Areas holding elections for the SCCA Board of Directors. Two new members will join the SCCA Board of Directors for 2012, while two incumbents will rejoin for a second three-year term.

Robin Langlotz, of Orlando, Fla., and Michael Lewis, of Poway, Calif., ran unopposed in Area Three and Area 11, respectively, and will return to the Board as incumbents in 2012.

In Area Four, Stephen Harris, of Dayton, Ohio, topped incumbent Marcus Merideth for the third open spot on the 13-member Board, 687 votes to 561.

Brian McCarthy, of Sacramento, Calif., won the Area 9 spot by 11 votes over Dave Deborde, of Minden, Nev., 424 votes to 413. McCarthy takes over the seat filled previously by R.J. Gordy, who reached his two-term limit.

The SCCA, Inc. Board of Directors is comprised of 13 individuals voted on by the SCCA members of their particular Area. Areas are a collection of SCCA Regions nationwide.

Each unopposed election is given one vote in the official results, per SCCA guidelines.

Election ballots were received through November 15, and were tallied by Mize, Houser & Company, Certified Public Accountants.

The current Board Members will gather in Topeka, Kan., for a Board of Directors meeting Dec. 1 – 3 at the SCCA National Office, joined by incoming board members Harris and McCarthy. Those two will assume full duties in 2012.
